Gifts
Detroit Cathedral Bookshop carries a variety of gifts for nearly any occasion. Our gift items include ceramics, glassware, clothing and accessories, crosses, jewelry and gifts for the home.

Historic Pewabic Pottery holds a special place in the life of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul. The Cathedral was Pewabic’s first large-scale tile installation and remains one of the largest to date. Founded in 1903 during the Arts & Crafts Movement, Pewabic is nationally renowned for its tile and pottery in unique glazes.

We offer tiles, vases, candlesticks and other Pewabic items. Some of our gift tiles are the same patterns that are found in the Cathedral. Tile patterns include various cross designs, geometrics and animal designs.

Turtle Bay Glass artist Paul Messink has been interested in glass art for many years, but began his work in 2003 when his partner paid for a lamp-work class as a birthday gift. Paul has since worked in lamp-work, blown glass, and most recently, kiln-formed glass.
Paul’s kiln-formed pieces include dinnerware, serving dishes, display pieces and coasters. He uses glass in a variety of beautiful colors, forming patterns by placing different colors of glass atop one another and heating the pieces in a kiln until the glass melds, forming a solid piece.
